‘I constructed this bicycle in 2010 in one week. The design is something that came to me in a dream. I remember one Wednesday I thought about creating something. The next morning I woke up and went to buy materials, then I went back home and started making it. I’m not sure how much it cost to make. Ever since I constructed this bicycle, people have been staring at me and acknowledging my work, and giving me a pat on the back. It is good to have it because, firstly, I don’t get sunburnt. Secondly, when it rains, I don’t get wet. Thirdly, when I am travelling with my daughter, I take her on it. Fourthly, even when there are strong winds, I don’t feel them. I have not finished it yet – I want to put in an engine. I don’t have money now to buy the engine, but when I get it I will install it myself, without anyone’s help. I will then put in the battery at the back, which will work with the engine and be charged by solar power.’
